After the 2015/2016 campaign was over on 28th May, UEFA declared the Squad of the season on 30th May. Obviously the list was dominated by the champion Real Madrid, who has now lifted the title for 11th time.

It came as a little surprise that the three time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano and Co. were the ones who dominated the list, which features Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Toni Kross, Marcelo and captain Sergio Ramos.

The runners-up Atletico who lost on penalties in Milan were tied-up with the champions, who has total of 6 players on the list. Antoine Griezmann, despite the crucial miss of a penalty on second half which might have earned them the championship, features, whilst defensive duo Juanfran and Diego Godin, Spanish midfielder Koke, goalie Jan Oblak and captain Gabi all earned a spot.

Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer of Bayern managed to be on the list. It is the third consecutive season for Bayern to crash on the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Brazilian Thiago Silva is the only player from PSG to make the cut.

Barca, the winner of last season had the third most players to be on the list, in spite of crashing out before semi-finals, with star players Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi entering the list. Elsewhere, Andres Iniesta, the influential captain also made the list.
